Stephen Potts
ConsultantStephen has worked in the field of youth and community work for over 20 years in various capacities, in rural and inner-city areas, in Christian and secular settings, in this country and abroad.
In 1995 Stephen gained his BA (Hons.) degree in Informal and Community Education at the YMCA George Williams College in London. Whilst studying in London Stephen developed a crime diversion project in East London working within a local youth organisation and developed youth work provision in a community centre on the Isle of Dogs.
Moving to Cornwall in 1995 Stephen has worked for the Cornwall Probation Service, Cornwall Youth Service, YMCA Cornwall, Kerrier Homes Trust and the Cornwall Youth Offending Team. The majority of this work has been developing and running new projects within the organisations.
Since February 2000 he has been the fundraising consultant for a number of organisations in Cornwall securing over £2,000,000 from many charities including The Tudor Trust, Children in Need, The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, The Rank Foundation, Comic Relief and Sport England. This has created and sustained jobs for people in Cornwall and provided organisations the means to develop and improve their services helping those people most in need in Cornwall.
Stephen has recently gained his CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate, and as a qualified trainer is developing training for organisations and individuals within the field of funding and project development. |
